Dr. Alberto Jaffé went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. A world-renowned musician, he was greatly admired and respected as an innovator and master teacher. His wife, Daisy de Luca Jaffé, was by his side as he accomplished much through music and his family. Our prayers are with Mrs. Jaffé and the family.
In 1994, Dr. Jaffé joined the PCC music faculty and received the honored distinction of Artist in Residence. In addition to teaching music, he directed music groups and summer music academy, and served as conductor of the PCCymphony for many years. He was greatly loved by music students and faculty and had a wonderful sense of humor that was appreciated by all.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 2 p.m. in the Mullenix Chapel, with the family receiving friends beginning at 12:30. Condolences and photos may be shared at the memorial website. In lieu of flowers, the family has arranged for contributions in Dr. Jaffé’s honor to be accepted by the PCC Business Office to benefit students in need.
