In Memoriam Frank Garlock

On March 3, 2023, Dr. Frank Garlock went home to be with his Heavenly Father after a life of sharing joy and laughter with those around him. He is especially remembered for his tremendous influence in conservative Christian music, devoting his life to using music to honor and glorify the Lord.

Dr. Garlock, founder of Majesty Music (home of Patch the Pirate), served on the Board of Directors for Pensacola Christian College and led graduate summer programs in the 1980s. He also conducted many PCC operas, coming to Pensacola for several weeks to lead musical productions. A longtime friend of Dr. Arlin and Mrs. Beka Horton, Dr. Garlock was also actively involved with the church that occupied what is now Taylor Chapel. Additionally, he wrote PCC’s college hymn, which has been an integral part of campus life for generations.

Dr. Garlock’s passionate devotion to both music and faith inspired all who knew him and will continue to do so for years to come. Please keep his children, Shelly, Randy, and Gina, and his family in your prayers.

His funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Taylors, South Carolina, on Saturday, March 11, at 4:30 p.m., with visitation from 2 to 4:15 p.m.
