In Memoriam Stan Shimmin

Stan Shimmin

Mr. Stan Shimmin, a longtime PCC staff and faculty member, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 16, 2023. He was admired by many as an inspiring artist, teacher, and friend who exuded kindness and patience in all he did.

Mr. Shimmin’s career began in 1975 when he joined the ministry as a production artist in Publishing, eventually designing the very first PCC palm tree logo. His passion for serving God through his creative gifts led him to join the College art faculty in 1976. Throughout his career, he became a key architect of the art program and contributed much to its success. He officially retired in 2008, but his mentorship extended beyond the classroom and reached countless students whose careers have been shaped by his guidance and dedication to their success.

Outside of teaching, Mr. Shimmin left an indelible legacy with masterful works of calligraphy featuring Bible verses that hang throughout campus today—a testament of faithful service with an eternal impact.

Please keep Stan’s children, Raylene, Randi, Marty, and Meggan, and the entire Shimmin family in your prayers.

A private interment ceremony will be held for family. More information can be found through Faith Chapel.
