On Thursday, March 21, 2019, member of the PCC Board of Directors and former faculty Dr. Dennis Martin went home to be with the Lord. Known as a hard worker motivated by a passion for serving God, he was a beloved encourager and mentor to several generations of students, faculty, and staff.
He retired from his ministry as PCC faculty member in 2007 after teaching water sports, lifeguarding, first aid, and physical education for over 22 years. Many weekends, he also worked at West Campus, creating a relaxed atmosphere while teaching students to sail. Red Cross training and certifications for students and faculty were possible because of his hard work and smoothly continued after his retirement because of his mentorship. Even after retirement, he has had an active ministry as an adopted “grandpa” to PCC students. For the last four years, he served on the PCC Board of Directors and was a prayer warrior for this ministry. The PCC family has been blessed by Dennis Martin. Our prayers are with his wife, Pennie, and their children Susan, Seth, and Stacy.
The funeral service will be held in the Mullenix Chapel on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 3 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Mullenix Chapel.
