On Monday, January 6, 2020, long-time PCC employee Bob Chappell went home to be with the Lord. He retired in July 2014 after serving at PCC for nearly 28 years. Known for his integrity and faithfulness, he was respected and appreciated by administrators and employees. Contractors, engineers, architects, and county officials also admired his work ethic and testimony.
Bob and Connie Chappell began working at Pensacola Christian College in 1986. He started as a carpenter, becoming Plant Manager in 1987 and Director of Facilities and Plant Operations in 2006. He was trusted with oversight of campus facilities, infrastructure, maintenance, grounds, and construction projects. Working closely with PCC’s founders as campus facilities were developed, he assured quality and adherence to construction standards. PCC’s Sports Center, Crowne Centre, and many other significant buildings stand as trophies of his impact on future generations of PCC students. Today, two of Bob and Connie’s sons are also long-time PCC employees. As we remember Bob, our prayers are with his wife, Connie, and their children Todd, Barry, and Tonya.
Visitation will be held at the Mullenix Chapel on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at 2 p.m., with the funeral service following at 3 p.m.
