In the Student Life conference room, student body officers, along with Student Programs Coordinator Mr. Ben Finau and graduate assistant Mr. Bryan Paul, gathered around the meeting table. Student body chaplain Andrew Flanders opened the meeting in prayer, asking the Lord for a productive planning session.
Meeting Your Student Body Leaders
This year’s officers come from different backgrounds and have various academic and personal goals, but they all want the best for PCC’s student body. “We [officers] want to see student body meetings taken to the next level,” shared Zach, student body president. Each of the student body officers desire to follow Christ’s example and lead through service.

“In my opinion,” said Andrew, “there is no better way to follow Christ’s example than to serve others.” For many of these student body officers, this isn’t their first experience ministering to others; Zach had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Grenada over the summer, Cammie and Andrew both worked in Teen Extreme, Jefferson counseled campers at a Christian camp in Louisiana, and Cody taught piano and violin over the summer. These officers not only want the best for the student body but are well-equipped to lead through service.
“There is no better way to follow Christ’s example than to serve others.”
They also can’t wait for PCC’s many exciting events and fundraisers. “I’m really excited for the Missions Run,” shared Cody. “I look forward to seeing how we can help a ministry in a big way. It’s so cool to see how we’re able to raise money even on a college campus where many of us aren’t financially independent yet.”
New School Year, New Inspiration

Once a month, the student body meets together to promote unity among the students of Pensacola Christian College. The student body officers are responsible for running the monthly meetings, planning which ministries the student body will support through fundraisers, and promoting events on campus.
For several years, student body officers have picked a theme and a Bible verse to help inspire the student body. This year’s theme is “With all boldness,” and the verse officers claimed is Philippians 1:20: “According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.”
“With all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified.”
The new student body officers wanted to motivate students to be bold in how they serve Christ. “We knew we wanted to represent a year of boldness and standing for what is right. This verse speaks on what it means to be bold and how we can all be bold in Christ,” explained Zach.
Planning for Success
A lot of thought and time goes into planning each student body meeting. Most student body meetings consist of announcements, congregational songs, special music, and skits. Each piece of the meeting must be meticulously mapped out. But for this first meeting, extra planning is paramount.

Preparing for this first meeting, Ben, Bryan, and the student body officers met in one of the Student Life conference rooms on a Saturday. “Okay, team, let’s get started,” Mr. Finau said as he offered everyone a container of no-bake cookies. “Hopefully these will get the creative juices flowing.”
Officers spent all morning hammering out the order of events for the first student body meeting. Once they got the order finalized, they turned their attention to the skits. “After we filmed one of our skits, we broke for lunch. When we came back, we finished filming and ended our meeting around four in the afternoon,” said Jenna.
“We really want to make [student body meetings] an enjoyable experience, like everything else on campus!”
Closing out the Saturday planning session, officers look forward to the first student body meeting. “Hopefully this is a great year,” said Zach. “We really want to make [student body meetings] an enjoyable experience, like everything else on campus!”
This year’s student body officers eagerly await the 2025–2026 school year, and we look forward to seeing the student body officers lead with all boldness.
