Mr. James McDonald went home to be with his Lord on October 22. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, he was also a valued member of the PCC community.
During more than 30 years of service, Mr. McDonald served as a faculty member, academic dean, and chair. His students remember his kindness and the wisdom with which he balanced humor and high standards. His knowledge and love of the American West captivated his classes, and his enthusiasm for literature and writing encouraged students to deepen their own appreciation for both. Quiet in manner, he showed his care through patient instruction and a personal interest in his students’ growth.
Please keep his wife, Andrea; his children, Jennifer, Christie, Jeffrey (and his wife Alex), and Micah; and his grandchildren in prayer during this difficult time.
The family invites you to honor Mr. McDonald’s life on Saturday, October 31, in the Mullenix Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. A private committal will be held for the family.
